Totally Social ASD is so excited to be able to announce that Megan and Sabra will be running a new summer camp hosted by Oakland University's OUCARES in Western Oakland County!
We set up a meeting at OUCARES in February with the intention of letting them know about what Totally Social ASD is doing on this side of Oakland and Livingston County. We went in with the hopes that they would share our resources with their families and other connections, anything to help spread the word and get more supports out there to our individuals w/ autism within our community.
When we walked out of the meeting our heads were spinning with ideas and excitement! We forged an amazing relationship and collaborated in creating an extension to their newly developed Life Skills Camp in only two hours! Megan and Sabra will be running the camp within the community of South Lyon at Centinniel Middle School. The South Lyon Community School district was very accommodating in our search to find the perfect space for our camp.
Megan and Sabra are excited to start to plan the daily activities that will be focused around community awareness, social communication skills, and building our campers' overall functional independence skills.
The Life Skills Camp will have:
2 sessions, with each session being 3 weeks long
Monday - Friday--from 9am-3pm
Session 1: June 30-July 18 (no camp July 4)
Session 2: July 21-August 8
